The Chile international's future is the subject of constant speculation as it was in the summer.
If a good player comes to us that is better, if he doesn't come we do it with the team we have.
Kevin De Bruyne
He then appeared to be leaving the Gunners and heading for the Etihad Stadium but a move failed to materialise. Now, in the January window, there is fresh belief that a move could happen, especially as his Arsenal contract is due to expire in the summer.
Arsene Wenger said earlier in the week that there have been no offers for Sanchez but, if he does move to City, De Bruyne says he would be a good addition to the squad. He said: "[He is] a very good player. Obviously we will see what happens in this transfer period.
"If a good player comes to us that is better, if he doesn't come we do it with the team we have. We are on a good period already - the whole season. Everybody is doing a good job.
"If he comes he will add something to the team."
Meanwhile De Bruyne says he is still in negotiations with City over a new contract though his current deal still has three and a half years left to run. City, after progressing though to the fourth round of the FA Cup and getting a first leg lead over Bristol City in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup, are back in Premier League action this weekend. With a 15-point lead at the top of the table they bid to extend their unbeaten record this season with a tough game away to Liverpool on Sunday.
